The Dower Power Hour

Have you heard about this? It’s half MTV special, half 7th Heaven episode. Just in case you had any doubts about Mitt Romney’s credentials as a husband and father, here’s a video of their Christmas last year narrated by his wife. There are several ironic scenes, primarily the one in which Mitt sits his family down and has a roundtable discussion of the pros and cons of running for President. One of the biggest concerns was protecting family’s privacy… Yeah.

With that premise, you’d think the video would be excruciating to watch but once I got started I was able to sit through all 13 minutes, no problem. It’s actually very well put together and includes an anecdote about young Mitt getting arrest for sledding down a golf course hill at night on an ice block. Oh ho! What a rascal. If somehow you can forget how deliberately contrived the whole thing is, perhaps you will be swayed.
